If you’ve had work done on your teeth, and you’re still having trouble trying to keep them healthy, there’s a possibility you might end up with dentures.  Dentures are artificial teeth designed to let people function pretty much as they could with their own teeth, even being able to eat with them.  There are a couple of options when you’ve decided on dentures.  You can make your decision based on the factors involved.  After the use of the dental extraction instruments to remove the teeth, you have the option for what’s called immediate dentures.  These offer you both the option of not having to go toothless while waiting for your dentures to be ready to be worn, and they can actually help in the healing process for the tooth sockets.  This is likely to be more expensive, and will also carry more of an upfront cost since you’ll end up with the full two sets in close succession.  Another option is to wait after the teeth are pulled until the regular dentures can be placed.  This, though, would require you to be willing to go toothless for a matter of probably months, and plenty of people don’t want to do that even if it is less expensive overall. Whichever you choose, there will likely be some similarities in further treatment.  Ultimately, you will have follow-up appointments to be sure the dentures continue to fit well.

Maybe the dental extraction instruments won’t be used for a tooth extraction before dentures, but instead you’re planning to have bridge work done with other dental supplies.  This will be a permanent fixed appliance that helps to keep your teeth aligned.  There are a number of different kinds of bridges, but one of the most common has porcelain attached to metal.  The piece that fills in the space where a tooth has been removed is called a pontic.  This will take the place of the missing tooth and be fixed in place along with crowns on the teeth next to the pontic.  Whatever kind of dental work you might need done, be sure to consult with your dentist.  If the situation is bad enough, or you are unwilling to pay for treatment of the tooth, you can have procedures done with the dental extraction instruments to remove the tooth.
