A Question About Six Month Smiles®

I would like to know about 6 month braces and its advantages.

Hi, Chakki –

Short term orthodontic treatment is designed for patients with an early to moderate orthodontic problem. It is very good at straightening teeth cosmetically, it is not designed to correct major bite problems. Most of these cases take several months to complete, thus the 6 month reference – if you have an interest, you should come in to see if you are a candidate for this treatment. We want to make sure that you have no decay or other problem that would need to be taken care of prior to ortho treatment.

If you have a major bite issue, such as severe overbite, or severe crossbite or extreme spacing, then you might not be a candidate for limited treatment. Some of these more complex situations can take up to 2-3 years to resolve. Give us a call so we can see you and discuss your options.
