Both the Piezo scaler and the magnetostrictive scaler are excellent, high quality dental scalers.  They both perform well, and the choice of scalers pretty much boils down to personal preference.

Used by dentists, periodontists, and dental hygienists, scalers are extremely important in maintaining oral good health and healthy gums.  Dental scalers are used to remove plaque, calculus (tartar), and stains from tooth surfaces.  The tip of the scaler vibrates back and forth to dislodge debris, while water is lavaging that debris away from the tooth and gums.
